PSA for any #Colorado #writers or other self-employed individuals or contractors. You can opt into the FAMLI program (famli.colorado.gov/employers) which will let you qualify for paid time off similar to what you get with an employer under FMLA.

I have already learned that the new rescue pup is fine taking walks in 95 degree weather. (Note that I am not so fine with it, but she likes to walk A LOT.) Now we get to see if she is also a fan of walking in the rain. She's a Newf so I expect so.

She bit her lip and, before she could change her mind, before she could think about what she was doing, thrust the blade upward.
He arched and cried out as the blade plunged into his heart, and then fell back, dead.
K'lrsa stumbled away from his body and collapsed to the sand, sobbing. She curled into a ball of agony and loss, rocking back and forth.
Fallion nuzzled her shoulder and she buried her face in his mane, holding tight as she cried, grateful for his steady presence.

Random pet peeve of mine is that CDC, etc. didn't say COVID was over, they said it was now endemic. As in, here to stay for the forseeable future and relatively predictable.

An epidemic that has gone international is referred to as a pandemic: the disease, once localized in scope, now starts to appear in other countries and even on other continents, typically infecting a large number of people in a short amount of time. If a disease lingers for a long time as an epidemic or a pandemic, it may eventually become endemic to an area. The word endemic describes a disease that persists at a consistent level within a region with fairly predictable rates of infection and spread, making it easier to prevent future outbreaks."
